Technology and HR

(From SHRM – registration required)

“The lines between HR information management and the HR staff have really blurred,” he says. “In a way, we have all become HR information managers.”

Interesting take on HRIT.  I guess my position on this is that HR needs to become expert in utilizing data/information to support decision making & strategic planning – and to measure results, but I don’t think that is the same as being an HRIT manager.  Seems like it should not be a specialty, but instead a required skill for HR Professionals.

It is a given that marketing, finance and operations people utilize data to plan and measure – why does HR have a specialty in this subject?
