Cognitive Dissonance on Firing

OK, I know there are two posts here about firing – You’re Fired and Employees Are Our Most Valuable Asset – and they may seem slightly contradictory – but one of them is about firing a bunch of hourly employees because of management incompetence (we are paying them “above market” rates) and the other is essentially about the ability of a company to fire those within its management and leadership ranks. I think they are two very different things.
